Before I start I'd like to relay a huge Thanks to Swindus for creating a great and versatile frontend. It has worked wonder for me, and I Love it!
With that being said, I have some issues I'd like to bring up.
ISSUES:
1) I have submenus under my mame section using the GUITree Feature, as well as submenus under that (Select Control Type). When I create a "new node", it creates it at the bottom of the list, and for some reason the app doesn't allow me to move the node up past the sub-submenu point, or back down. If I move it up and try to move it back down, I get an error message saying: "Ser Index Liste uberschreitet das Maximum (4)".. so I'm rather stuck with that. (Image attached below)
2) When using shortcuts as a "rom" for "Other Emu Config" (eg PC Games), none of the parameters after the main executable get loaded. (eg: when trying to run "C:\app\app.exe -param1 -param2", the parameters will not get loaded) This has lead me to use bat files, which is fine for some apps, but not for others.
3) When using a bat files that launches a multi app session, Mala runs as though it in front. For example, I am running EPSXE with the best available frontend (Epsxecutor) to be able to load custom settings for each game, but to do that properly in Mala I need to use bat files. Since the bat files start epsxecutor, and then epsxecutor starts epsxe, there is a middle point where mala thinks its back in front since epsxecutor was shutdown. This doesn't matter much visually, but certain problems arise. The background music in Mala starts again and continues through epsxe, and when the time comes, the mala screensaver will come on in the background, slowing the emulator down.Maybe making mala know when it is not in focus at all could solve the problem, but I don't know..
REQUESTS:
1) Can you make it so the Right Mouse menu button is remappable? I ask this because I have the Happ USB Trackball that has 3 buttons wired to it, and I would like to be able to use them, or at least the main 2. I have PC games installed that use the right mouse button, and I would not like to let the casual person have access to the menu system, which would defeat the arcade look and make them see it is a PC.
2) This is more of a community request than a developer request, but I will put it in here. Is there an experienced coder that can create a JoytoKey Mala plugin? Some of us at the arcadecontrols forum would like to be able to load custom JoytoKey config files for specific emulators, and I figured a plugin would be the best bet for an issue like this. I know nothing of coding, so I thought I would put the request in here for those who do.
3) Are there any improvements being planned for the Jukebox section? I would love to see some buttons for better music/playlist control, and the ability to continue to play songs as you browse through the gamelists.
Again, I would like to send out a great thanks to Swindus and everyone who makes MaLa possible. It has taken a great weight off my shoulders and I'm very thankful for that! It's a top notch application!
Cheers!
