no sound layout in win98 se

    Hello, i have a problem, the soundset of layout not listen in windows 98 se, i have a latest version of M.a.l.a, i have enable audio in sound and music and the sounds are assigned.

    if you mean sounds for a specific layout, you have to copy the sound files into the layout folder like the images of the layout or MaLa doesn't find the sound files.

    I only have one layout. The problem is it don't play the sound. I've already edited the layout and I've assigned the sounds and it doesn't work (I can not heard the sounds) I've already done that your suggest in your last message and that also don't work.
    The problem could be caused by Windows 98, maybe?

    I don't think that Win98SE is the problem, because I'm running MaLa on Win98SE too.


    What is the format of the sound files? For gui sounds MaLa needs wav files.
    And if you want to add gui sounds you can do this in the options dialog of MaLa. No need to add the sounds to the layout.

    Thanks for your help, but I've already done that for the gui sounds. The format of the files are wav, I downloaded it from SoundsSet01 (web site Mala).

    I've checked the instructions as you suggested and definitily the problem is from my windows 98 SE.
    Because I 've tried with windows XP and 2000 and I haven't any problem. The sounds was listen perfectly.
    I'm going to try with other version of windows 98, because also, is the only system with the Ipac works correctly.


    I think the MALA is the best frontend I've tried.
    once again, thanks for your help and I will keep you informed what happen when I'll try the new version.
